In May 2009 we were able to take a tour of the Hope Housing and Restoration Center in Bloomfield Indiana. The are a non-profit Christ centered program designed to help women in crisis. It is supportive housing program for women and their children. Each room is set up as an efficiency apartment. Their goal is to empower women in crisis to live free from situations such as homelessness, domestic violence, and family separation due to poor life choices. At that time we did not have much with us but we were able to distribute a couple of boxes of food & personal care items to them. It was greatly appreciated. We are planning to make a trip back there in September with many more items for them.
We first when to Marcellus Michigan where they was stating a new food pantry. Been helping out the food pantry in Marcellus with some advise and got six churches involved. They are all taking up once a month collection for them, and a food drive every 6 months. One church does it every month. Then we Moved to the lower part of Indiana and is working with the Hope Housing and Restoration center. Been working on fundraisers we are going to be doing a spaghetti dinner and inviting all the business owner and anyone that wants to buy a ticket. Then tell them about the center and ask them how they can help. Already got Walmarts in the next town over to give them there clearance items to them once a month. Walmarts gave it to us and we took it to them and ask Walmarts if the center could just come and get it.
